On September 17, 1787, the U.S. Constitution was signed by delegates at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. This document established the framework for the federal government of the United States, replacing the Articles of Confederation, and outlined the rights and responsibilities of the three branches of government: the legislative, executive, and judicial.Constitution Day, observed on September 17, commemorates the signing of the Constitution. It’s a day to honor and reflect on the significance of the document, which is considered one of the oldest written national constitutions still in use. The Constitution includes several key principles, such as:Separation of Powers: Dividing power among the three branches of government.Checks and Balances: Ensuring that no one branch becomes too powerful.Federalism: Sharing power between the federal government and state governments.Individual Rights: Initially protected by the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the Constitution. The Constitution has been amended 27 times, with the Bill of Rights being the first ten amendments added shortly after the original document was ratified. These amendments help ensure the rights and freedoms of American citizens are protected. This foundational document remains a symbol of American democracy and governance.#ConstitutionDay #USConstitution #September17 #FoundingFathers #BillOfRights #AmericanHistory #Democracy #SeparationOfPowers#Federalism #ChecksAndBalances #WeThePeople #CivicEngagement#ConstitutionalRights #LibertyAndJustice

Celebrated on September 17, Constitution Day, also known as Constitution and Citizenship Day, honors the document that guarantees Americans their essential rights. Since its ratification in 1787, the Constitution of the United States has served as the basis for all U.S. laws.To prevent the abuses of power they felt subjected to under the British monarchy, the Founding Fathers framed the Constitution carefully, distributing power between three branches of government. The Constitution outlines the government’s powers, the limitations on those powers, and the rights of citizens. It also outlines an amendment process for making changes in the future.#ConstitutionDay, #CitizenshipDay, #USConstitution, #FoundingFathers, and #CivicEngagement

🌍 U.S. History: On September 25, 1789, the United States Congress passed twelve constitutional amendments. Ten of these would later become known as the Bill of Rights, enshrining fundamental civil liberties such as freedom of speech, religion, and the press. Additionally, the Congressional Apportionment Amendment and the Congressional Compensation Amendment were proposed, though only the latter was eventually ratified—becoming the 27th Amendment in 1992.⚖️📜 #USHistory #BillOfRights #ConstitutionalAmendments #CivilLiberties #CongressHaJunk - Business Development

MAY RULE OF LAWMay 1 was Law Day, did you miss it? Well, let’s make up for lost time, knowing the month of May is also dedicated to appreciating the immense value of the rule of law. In 1958, President Eisenhower reflected on his WWII experiences and the perils to society when the rule of law is broken down. 66 years later we can reflect on the value of democracy, free society, where we disagree and yet still collaborate to address our nations most pressing challenges. This year’s theme “Voices of Democracy” was set in the context of the 60th Presidential election in our nations history. Spend May listening and celebrate our diverse voices. Together we can respect our differences, connect with our common interest in our democracy and rebuild our trust in the institutions responsible for implementing our democratice decisions. Commemorate, celebrate, collaborate to strengthen the rule of law that supports our democracy. https://lnkd.in/dsedpmzKMAY RULE OF LAWPeril to freedomVoices of democracy1958Rebuild trust respectAddress nation’s challengesCollaboration5.3.24 mhq#haikuchallenge24

"Human dignity is inviolable". What a way to start a document that is the framework for the relationship between citizens and their state.Happy birthday, Basic Law! 🎉 75 years! I made a little film -see below. 📽 Kudos to Lukas Hansen!Let's all make sure we never take them for granted, all those freedoms, principles, rules, rights, and values enshrined in what is essentially the German constitution. The Constitution - it is more than a document. The Constitution is a vital blueprint of our Republic, and the cornerstone of our nation's foundation. Written in 1787, and active since 1789, these four thousand words have given freedom to generations before us, and will continue to do so as long as it's defended. Watch as Pete Hegseth joins OCS to emphasize the meaning behind the document, and how our nation's newest enlistees fight to uphold all it stands for as we kick off #ConstitutionWeek
